Melanie Dos Reis is the Audit Manager at Premier Group, bringing over 20 years of experience in Government & Public Sector Accounting and Advisory. Her background spans Big 4 and mid-sized CPA firms, with expertise in internal and external audits, IT audits, outsourced CFO services, and financial reporting across federal, state, and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and government contractors.
Melanie has led high-profile engagements, including FIAR initiatives for the Department of Defense, SSAE 18, SOC 1/SOC 2, and SOX readiness assessments, always ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAGAS, FAR, OMB Uniform Guidance, and AICPA standards. She’s known for her leadership, technical acumen, and commitment to quality, mentoring staff and providing clear, senior-level communications.
Previously, she held senior audit roles supporting NAVFAC, USDA, DOT, and DFAS, where she directed IT control testing and audit readiness initiatives. Melanie holds a BS in Accounting from DeVry University and an Executive MBA from George Mason University, with a focus on Critical Infrastructure Protection. She is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), and is pursuing CPA and PMP certifications.
She is also active in business development and serves on the board of the Stratton Woods Homeowners Association.
